New protocol of Coefficient of Friction testing by means of Vitro-Skin®and Courage + Khazaka Frictiometer FR700 probe for skin care formulation
New approach for combination of In-vitro skin testing probe and skin model substrate
Coefficient of Friction (CoF) testing is performed on skin care formulations to assist the formulator with improving application, showing the ability of a product to fill in and reduce appearance of fine lines, reduce irritation by improving glide, improve appearance of skin smoothness and also prove barrier protection. This method uses the Frictometer FR 700 from Courage + Khazaka along with Vitro-Skin® to allow the formulator to optimize formulations during the development process. Using Vitro-Skin® as a substrate allows consistency of measurement and allows high throughput screening of formulations.
